Glucocorticoids for asthma treatment

Question:
I've just started using anti-inflammatory treatment in the form of Vanceril for my asthma. I have many concerns with this. Number one, is it possible for an individual to get off of this treatment after long term use? A Medical Sciences Bulletin on the Web states that insufficient drug in an old inhaler can provoke rebound bronchospasm. Is it possible to wean yourself from these types of drugs in a safe manner?

Answer:
Beginning about 5 years ago, I began working with a Chiropractor who is also a Homeopath. My lifelong asthma(I am 52) is now essentially cured. If I reach for my inhaler more frequently than every 2 or 3 months, it is most unusual. My two children have also been cured. Yes - there are alternatives, but it is best not to just go to your local health food shop and try whatever they offer.
