Question:
Every study I have seen has indicated that there is no correlation between asthma rates and pollution. However there is a correlation between severity of existing asthma and pollution. If you have evidence to the contrary, please give me a citation reference.

Answer:
The fact is, there are a lot of studies that claim that there is a *strong* correlation between asthma rates and pollution. Epidemiological studies deal specifically with correlations, not in speculation. In any event, my own experience with whatever form of asthma I have clearly points to pollution as a strong factor. I think it's important to remember that asthma is a hetereogeneous condition. The relationship between steroids, immunosuppression, and cancer >is well known and has been extensively studied in respect to >transplant patients. It has *not* been studied so far as I've >been able to tell, in respect to asthma patients using steroid >inhalers.
